LSUA Movie Club Announces Spring Movie Series Schedule

The LSU Alexandria Movie Club will open its spring movie series on Friday, Feb. 16, with two showings of “Terror by Night.”

“Terror by Night” is a 1946 black and white film that is a fast-paced mystery suspense featuring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson.

Throughout the spring semester, the Movie Club will have two showings of each film. The 1 p.m. showing will be on campus, while the 7 p.m. showing will be at LSUA Downtown in the Alexandria Museum of Art.

The movie series is free and open to the public.

Friday, Feb. 23 “Earth vs. the Flying Saucers” (1956). B&W. 82 mins. Hugh Marlowe and Joan Taylor. Sincere, straight-forward sci-fi that features special effects by Ray Harryhausen.

Friday, March 2 “Rehearsal for Murder” (1982). Color. 97 mins. Robert Preston, Lynn Redgrave, Patrick Macnee and Jeff Goldrum in a clever mystery produced by the people who made Columbo.

Friday, March 9 “Flying Deuces” (1939). B&W. 65 mins. Hilarious Laurel and Hardy Foreign Legion feature.
