LSUA Holds Spring Registration, Advising, Fee Payment

Released: 01/04/2007

LSU Alexandria will hold regular registration and advising for the spring semester on Wednesday, Jan, 10, and Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007. Evening registration and advising will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fee payment is set for Monday, Jan. 8 through Thursday, Jan. 11.

The regular registration and advising period on Jan. 10-11 is for new students and continuing students who did not register during early registration. Students should be prepared to pay fees when they register.

Transfer, re-entry, and new students who have been notified of their acceptance should report directly to their department office to begin registration. Students who applied for admission but who have not received notice of acceptance should report to the Admissions Office in Abrams Hall.

Spring 2007’s importance

The Spring 2007 semester will be the last regular semester that LSUA will be an open admission institution. In the fall of 2007, LSUA will begin using the selective admission standards set forth by the Board of Regents. Any student under age 25 who does not have a high school diploma, or did not complete the Board of Regents’ high school core curriculum, or requires more than one developmental course, and does not have either a high school GPA of 2.0 or better, an ACT composite score of 20 or better, or a high school graduation rank in the top 50% of the class, should register for either the Spring 2007 semester or the Summer 2007 session. Any potential student with questions about the admission standards should contact an LSUA recruiter at 318-473-6417 or 1-888-473-6417.

“We do not want anyone to miss out on the opportunity to attend LSU Alexandria,” Dr. Robert Cavanaugh, LSUA chancellor, said. “If you’ve ever thought about starting or finishing your college education, now is the time to register for classes at LSUA.”

Students who wish to enroll for the spring semester but have not submitted an application for admission also should report to the Admissions Office. New students should be prepared to go through the admissions process, attend a brief orientation session, pay fees, get their student identification card and vehicle decal, and meet with an academic adviser to schedule courses.
