LSU Alexandria Orientation for New Students Set Jan. 4

Released: 12/21/2006

LSU Alexandria will hold orientation for its newest students on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007.

New freshmen and transfer students that will begin taking classes this spring at LSUA will have a choice of three orientation sessions depending on whether they have been advised. Each session lasts the three hours, which must be attended in its entirety.

Students who have already been advised can attend the 9 a.m.-12 p.m. session or the 5:30-8:30 p.m. session. At these sessions, students can register for classes, complete student Id documents, and receive parking decals. Discussion topics also include fee payment, financial aid, student services, available online tutorials, and course management among several other important items.

Students who have not been advised should attend the 1- 4 p.m. session. At this session, similar topics will be addressed and students will learn how to register online but students will not be able to register for classes until they meet with their advisors on January 10 or 11.

Students are asked to register for one of these three sessions by calling 767-2604.

LSUA is taking a small group mentoring approach so students can experience the orientation process with professional advisors available to meet individual student needs.
