Empty Space Players Presents "The Colored Museum"

Released: 11/08/2006

LSU Alexandria Empty Space Players presents George C. Wolfe’s “The Colored Museum” Nov. 9-12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kress Theater of The Rapides Foundation building downtown.

Visiting professor Dr. Eddie Bradley of Spelman College in Atlanta will direct the all African-American cast.

This episodic play explores several stories about the lives of African Americans, according to Dr. Rhonda Shook, LSU Alexandria director of theatre.

“What Wolfe does so well is make us laugh,” Shook said. “But in the middle of our laughter we realize how horrifying it is, so you are left suspended.”

LSUA cast members include Sheila Hudson, Ozel Piper, and Daryll Johnson.

Shook warns that this play includes explicit language.
