Continuing Education offers general enrichment courses

LSU Alexandria Continuing Education is offering a variety of general enrichment courses to the community throughout the month of October. Pre-registration is required for each course.

Conversational Spanish – Intermediate: Build on your beginning Spanish skills with this course which takes Spanish conversation to a higher level. 5:45-7:45 p.m. on Mon., Tues. & Thurs. Oct. 30 through Nov. 13. Cost is $140.

Nonprofit Management Series: Strategic and Long Range Planning & Converting Vision to Practice: Explore ways to shape the vision of a non-profit agency into tangible, immediate, strategic and long-term goals. 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Mon., Oct. 23 & Wed., Oct. 25. Cost is $155.

Beginner Digital and Film Photography: This class covers the basic subjects of how to take better photos with digital and film cameras. 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 12. Cost is $50.

Intermediate Photography Techniques: This class will include topics such as composition; balance of light; depth of field; double exposures; special effects; and more. 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 26. Cost is $50.

Travel Course: Natchitoches 52nd Annual Pilgrimage: This day-trip will take you to several plantation homes on the tour. Course fee includes admission to the homes visited and transportation. 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 14. Cost is $70.

ACT English Prep: This course will help students on the English portion of the ACT exam with test-taking strategies and skills review. 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Mon. & Wed., Oct. 16 & 18. Cost is $70.

ACT Math Prep: This course will include a general review of the topics covered on the Mathematics portion of the ACT exam with test-taking strategies and handouts. 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 17 & 24. Cost is $70.

A Halloween “Spook-tacular”!: This fun cooking course will show you some new spins on the traditional Halloween party, with party themes for children, teens and adults. 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Mon., Oct. 23.
