Mardi Gras Parade set for Feb. 22

Released: 02/13/2006

LSU Alexandria’s eighth annual Mardi Gras Parade is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 22.

The parade will begin at noon near the Children’s Center and make its way around the campus block. A judges’ reviewing stand will be in front of the Science Building.

Members of Future Leaders and Majors in Education will lead the way on the grand marshal’s float. The FLAME float won last year’s competition.

The floats will be manned by LSU Alexandria employees and students. They will throw beads, candy and other Mardi Gras trinkets to the crowd. The public is encouraged to attend this free event.
