Space Center Houston trip set for March 11

The LSU Alexandria Chancellor’s Arts and Humanities Committee is sponsoring a daytrip to Space Center Houston, the official visitor’s center of NASA’s Johnson Space Center, on Saturday, March 11.

LSU Alexandria students and employees can register for the bus trip any time through March 9. Members of the community can sign up from Feb. 28 until March 9.

Tickets are $19 for adults and children age 7 and older. The price includes lunch at the Space Center Cafeteria.

Participants will board a bus at LSUA at 6 a.m. and return around midnight. At Space Center Houston, they will be able to view large-screen space films in the “Space Center Theater and Astronaut Gallery,” see the Apollo 17 space capsule, walk through the “Sky Lab Trainer” and touch a real moon rock.

The participants also will take the NASA Tram Tour which includes stops at the building where astronauts train and Rocket Park, home to Apollo 18.
