Leadership Central Louisiana taking applications

Released: 11/09/2005

Nov. 18 is the deadline to apply for Leadership Central Louisiana 2006, an eight-month program that promotes leadership education and community awareness.

Anyone interested in a leadership position or aspiring to be a community leader is encouraged to apply. This will be the fourth year that LSU Alexandria’s Continuing Education Department has coordinated the program.

The program builds leadership skills and exposes participants to community leaders, challenges and opportunities. As Central Louisiana grows and management and leadership challenges become more demanding, there is a need for a new standard of leadership in our area. Hundreds of Leadership Central Louisiana graduates are now making a difference in our community.

Leadership Central Louisiana exposes participants to a wide variety of community topics including the arts, politics, the economy, the military, community services, health care, education, tourism, public safety and law enforcement and the environment and natural resources.

The group meets one day a month, usually a Thursday, beginning in January and ending in August 2006. The $750 cost covers the eight workshops, meals and materials.

The deadline to apply is noon on Friday, Nov. 18. For more information or an application, visit or call (318) 473-6495.
