Cast of "Burn This" announced

Released: 09/30/2005

Four LSU Alexandria students have been cast in the upcoming production of Lanford Wilson’s “Burn This.”

The university’s Empty Space Players theatre group is producing the contemporary play Oct. 14-23. Performances will be in Room 205 of LSU Alexandria’s Fitness Center.

Director Rhonda Shook, assistant professor of communication studies and theatre, announced the cast.

The part of Anna will be played by Yolande Thornhill of Glenmora, a theatre major. Kendall From of Alexandria, biology major, will play the role of Pale. Jonathan Belgard, sociology major from Pineville, is cast as Larry. Dustin Johnson, a theatre major from Pineville, will play the role of Burton.

“Burn This” is a contemporary play that is set in motion with the death of a young, gifted dancer and his lover. Shook said playwright Wilson presents a gorgeous, moody and surprisingly funny play in which love grows out of grief.

Because of the language and subject matter, the production of “Burn This” is not appropriate for children. You must be 17 or older to get in.

The performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22; 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 21; and 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 23.
