Beginning Mountain Biking class set for Saturday

A free, four-hour course for people who want to try their hand at mountain biking will be held Saturday morning at the West Kincaid Lake Boat Ramp near Alexandria.

Beginning Mountain Biking, a free forum presented by LSU Alexandria and Red River Bank, is scheduled from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Sept. 17.

It will begin with a short talk on riding techniques, equipment, tools and places to ride. Then, participants will take a ride on some of the most beautiful trails in Louisiana.

Participants need to bring a mountain bike, helmet and water bottle. They should wear comfortable riding clothes and be familiar with their bike. The instructors will be LSUA Chancellor Robert Cavanaugh and biology professor David Huey.
