Hurricane Katrina Benefit Concert set Wednesday

Released: 09/06/2005

The Baptist Collegiate Ministry at LSU Alexandria is sponsoring a Benefit Concert on Wednesday to raise money for the special-needs shelter on campus. The concert will begin at noon on the university quad.

The BCM will sell hamburger plates for a suggested donation of $5. The plates include a burger, chips and soft drink. Also, the band Altar’d will perform contemporary Christian music.

The money will benefit the special-needs shelter, which is providing help for some 400 people who fled Hurricane Katrina. Shelter officials said they need money to buy meat and medicine for the evacuees. The shelter is set up in the Fitness Center and Caffey Annex at LSU Alexandria.
