"Burn This" auditions canceled Monday night

Released: 08/29/2005

Auditions for “Burn This” will not be held Monday night because the Fitness Center is being used to shelter special-needs patients fleeing Hurricane Katrina.

Tuesday’s auditions will take place at 2:30 p.m. in the Science Building Auditorium. The original location was in the Fitness Center.

The play will run Oct. 14 through Oct. 23 on the LSU Alexandria campus. It is being produced by LSUA’s Empty Space Players. However, the auditions are open to anyone in the community. No preparation is necessary. Audition material will be supplied.

Director Rhonda Shook, assistant professor of communication studies and theatre at LSU Alexandria, said the auditions are for four characters: Anna -- She is 32, beautiful, tall and strong and a dancer. Burton – Anna’s boyfriend. He is tall, athletic and good-looking. Larry – Anna’s roommate. He is 27, “medium everything,” very bright and gay. Pale – He is 36, shorter than Burton, well-built and not conventionally good-looking.
