Auditions Aug. 28-30 for Empty Space Players production

LSU Alexandria’s Empty Space Players will hold auditions Aug. 28, Aug. 29 and Aug. 30 for their upcoming production of the play “Burn This.” The play will run Oct. 14 through Oct. 23 on the LSU Alexandria campus. “Burn This” is a contemporary play set in motion with the death of a young, gifted dancer and his lover.

The auditions will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday and Monday and at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Room 205 of the Fitness Center on campus. If needed, callbacks will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Director Rhonda Shook, assistant professor of communication studies and theatre at LSU Alexandria, said the auditions are for four characters: Anna -- She is 32, beautiful, tall and strong and a dancer. Burton – Anna’s boyfriend. He is tall, athletic and good-looking. Larry – Anna’s roommate. He is 27, “medium everything,” very bright and gay. Pale – He is 36, shorter than Burton, well-built and not conventionally good-looking.

Auditions are open to LSUA students, faculty and staff, as well as to the community. No preparation is necessary. Audition materials will be supplied.
