200 to participate in Region IV Science Fair

Two hundred students from middle schools and high schools throughout Central Louisiana will be at LSU Alexandria on Saturday, March 19, to compete in the Louisiana Region IV Science and Engineering Fair.

The fair is an affiliate of the Louisiana Science and Engineering Fair based at LSU in Baton Rouge and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

Region IV serves students in Rapides, Avoyelles, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Sabine, Vernon, Catahoula and Concordia parishes. Winners progress to state and international competition.

The schedule of events is as follows:

7 a.m., doors open for participants 7-8 a.m., setup and inspection of projects 8-9 a.m., completion of project inspections 9-11 a.m., Round 1 judging 11-12:30 p.m., lunch and public viewing of projects 12:30-1:30 p.m., special awards judging 2:30-4 p.m., Awards Ceremony
