Coffee and Culture lecture to focus on love poets

Dr. Arthur Rankin, assistant professor of English at LSU Alexandria, will lead a discussion on troubadour love poets during a “Coffee and Culture” lecture sponsored by Friends of the James C. Bolton Library.

The event will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at PJ’s Coffee located at 4501 Jackson St. in the Mardi Gras Plaza. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served.

The lecture is titled “Chansons d’Amour: Amour Courtois.” Rankin will give a general outline of the history of troubadour love poets and bring examples for the audience to read and enjoy.
