Campus Mardi Gras parade rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 4

Released: 01/28/2005

LSU Alexandria’s seventh annual Mardi Gras Parade has been rescheduled for noon on Friday, Feb. 4. The event was originally planned for Wednesday, but officials changed the date because of the rain forecast.

The parade will begin near the Children’s Center and make its way around the campus block. A judges’ reviewing stand will be in front of the Science Building.

Chancellor Robert Cavanaugh and his staff will lead the way on the grand marshal’s float.

Floats will be manned by LSU Alexandria staff members, faculty and students. They will throw beads, candy and other Mardi Gras trinkets to the crowd. The public is encouraged to attend this free event.
