Paralegal, real estate courses offered through Continuing Education

LSU Alexandria Continuing Education is offering an in-depth evening course for people interested in a real estate career and a weekend course for anyone interested in becoming a paralegal.

Real Estate 101: Salesperson Pre-licensing is a 90-hour course for people interested in pursuing the Real Estate Salesperson License. The class meets from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Feb. 15 and ending May 26. The cost is $675 and includes required texts.

Pre-registration is required by Thursday, Feb. 10. The class meets in the LSU Alexandria/Red River Bank Training Room of the Tudor Building, 1412 Centre Court.

This course meets the educational requirements as established by the Louisiana Real Estate Commission. The instructor is Ricky Sooter, a real estate attorney with the Alexandria law firm of Provosty, Sadler, deLaunay, Fiorenza & Sobel.

The Paralegal Certificate Course is a six-weekend, 84-hour course offered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on most Saturdays and Sundays beginning Feb. 12 and ending April 3. The course fee is $989. Textbooks are extra and cost approximately $250.

Successful graduates will be awarded a Certificate of Completion from LSU Alexandria Continuing Education. Students must pass six exams and successfully complete required legal document-writing assignments to receive the certificate.

Pre-registration is required. Class size is limited, so interested students should register as soon as possible.
