Nurse pinning ceremony set for Dec. 16

LSU Alexandria’s Department of Nursing will hold a pinning ceremony for its 49 associate degree nursing graduates on Thursday, Dec. 16.

The ceremony is set for 11:30 a.m. in the gymnasium of the Physical Education Building/Fitness Center on campus. It follows Fall 2004 Commencement, which will begin at 10 a.m. on Dec. 16.

A reception for the nursing graduates will be held after the pinning ceremony in the F. Hugh Coughlin Hall auditorium.

Guest speaker for the ceremony will be Jacqueline Schexnyder, M.S.N., R.N., a certified registered nurse practitioner from Lecompte. She is a nurse practitioner at Alexandria Gastroenterology Associates and has 30 years experience in the field of nursing.

She is listed in Who’s Who in American Nursing and is past president of Sigma Theta Tau International, Nu Tau chapter. She is regional representative of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners and a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
