Political fair to be held Thursday, Oct. 28

Released: 10/26/2004

Candidates on the Nov. 2 ballot have been invited to attend a political fair on the LSU Alexandria campus on Thursday. The fair will provide candidates and their volunteers a chance to hand out campaign materials and interact with students, said event organizer Brion Whitehead, an LSU Alexandria student. “We wanted to get students interested in the election. This will expose LSUA students to the political process,” he said. The free event will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, near the fountain on the campus plaza. The fair will include booths for the Bush and Kerry presidential campaigns, the U.S. Senate race, the District 5 House race and the Rapides Parish judge’s race. As of Tuesday, District 5 candidates Rodney Alexander, Zelma Blakes and Jock Scott had planned to attend. Other candidate booths will be manned by volunteers.
