An organization that brings classical music to communities throughout the nation has scheduled a free concert Oct. 5 at LSU Alexandria. The Piatigorsky Foundation concert, featuring a soprano and pianist, will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, at the Brumfield Caffey Annex. Audience members will get the chance to meet with the artists after the one-hour event. The foundation is a nonprofit organization designed to make live classical music part of the fabric of everyday life for communities across the United States. The concert tours bring top-quality musicians to audiences who otherwise may not have the chance to hear such performances. They take place in relaxed, informal settings, where audience members can share the joy of great, live music. Performing at LSU Alexandria will be soprano Erika Wueschner and pianist Spencer Myer, both graduates of the Juilliard School in New York. The artists will include personal insights into each work during the performance.
