LSU Alexandria’s first summer dinner theatre, The Apple Tree, is coming this month. This delightful musical will run July 23-25 and July 29-Aug 1 on the Hearn Stage of the Kress Theatre in the Rapides Foundation Building located in downtown Alexandria. The cast and chorus are composed of LSU Alexandria students and community members. Dr. Jim Stacy will direct the production.

Tickets for the evening are $20 and include dinner at 6 p.m. with the performance beginning at 7 p.m. For tickets and reservations, phone (318) 473-6581.

The Apple Tree, a collection of three short musicals, was written by the creators of the Broadway classic Fiddler of the Roof. The LSU Alexandria production will include two bites out of the musical including 'The Diary of Adam and Eve' (based on Mark Twain's hilarious and touching re-telling of the Garden of Eden story) and 'Passionella' (a modern Cinderella tale from humorist Jules Feiffer.)
