WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS WHO NEED HELP ADJUSTING TO COLLEGE

Released: 06/08/2004

LSU Alexandria is offering a workshop called “Shifting Gears” for prospective LSU Alexandria students who have been out of school for a while and may need some help adjusting to the new routine of college. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 14 at 4 p.m. in the Barbara Brumfield Caffey Annex. There is no fee to attend, but pre-registration is required by calling Student Services at 473-6545. Prospective students are invited to bring their spouses, family members, or significant others with them. The workshop will be followed by an orientation session for new students at 5 p.m. This program will help introduce the student and his/her family to campus life and address specific issues relating to a student who has not attended college in some time. “Shifting Gears” will explore issues such as how to balance school, work and family, how the family dynamics will change with someone starting school, study tips and much more. For more information, contact Student Services at 473-6545.
