Dates Change for Marketing/PR & Sales Certificate Series

LSU Alexandria Continuing Education is offering the Marketing/PR & Sales Certificate Series in conjunction with the Cenla Chapter of the Public Relations Association of Louisiana (PRAL). <p> This eight-part series, which was originally set to begin in October with four separate sessions on marketing and sales topics, will now take place November 21 and December 4. The second half of the series, which includes four classes that will focus on public relations, media relations, developing your professional image, and event management, is set for Spring 2004. </p><p> The series was developed for anyone interested or currently working in positions requiring marketing, public relations and/or sales skills. You can take all of the classes or just a few. All PRAL members and Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce members will receive a 10% discount on the classes, if noted on their registration form. All sessions will meet on the LSU Alexandria campus for a fee of $110 each session. The first four classes in this series will cover the following: </p><p> Marketing Fundamentals & Principles-Basic concepts will be covered as they relate to business today. Learn hands-on applications of the various concepts and how to tailor strategies for the best results. Begin to understand the four “P’s” of marketing: Product, Price, Place and Promotion. The class will be held on Friday, November 21from </p><p> 8:30 a.m until 12:30 p.m. </p><p> Marketing Communication & Promotion-Participants will move toward implementing a marketing plan. Explore various promotional tools that are available and learn how to put them to work for you. Understand the basic steps to promoting your product and review the four “P’s” of marketing, as they interconnect with your specific marketing goals. This session will be held on Friday, November 21 from 1 until 5 p.m. </p><p> Mind of the Sales Warrior-This course is designed for anyone who sells a product or service. It takes time to set up an effective sales plan. This class offers several approaches that can make you successful in sales. Know the customer better than the competition-you will learn a five-step approach toward effective preparation. This class will be held on Thursday, December 4 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. </p><p> Building Client & Customer Relations-One of the best methods of advertising is by “word of mouth.” Once you have established your valuable relationships, it is important to continue to nurture and develop these relationships further. This course will teach you the basics on relationship development and strategies for improving and expanding beyond your immediate contacts.
