The photography of Lee Estes, Fellow, Photographic Society of America (FPSA), entitled "Fading Textures" will be on display at the Louisiana State University at Alexandria University Art Gallery from October 6 to November 1.

The exhibit features many examples of Louisiana architecture, industry and transportation dating from the late 19th to the 20th centuries. Much of Estes´ subjects have been neglected by most photographers and are structures which have since been demolished or abandoned. Estes´ work provides a glimpse into the appearance and life of early north and central Louisiana.

Estes is an award winning photographer with an outstanding record in International Photographic Exhibitions. He has had several articles published in the Journal of the Photographic Society of America, and his exhibits have been shown in Louisiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma. Estes is a native of Kentucky, but has resided in Louisiana for forty years.

The "Fading Textures" exhibit has been produced with assistance from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities.

Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. For more information, contact Mr. Roy deVille, professor of fine arts and director of the University Art Gallery, at 473-6449.
