<p> A one-day nursing seminar, "Nursing&acute;s Fatal Attractions: Perfectionism, Codependency and Workaholism," will be held on Monday, December 8, 1997 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Barbara Brumfield Caffey Annex at Louisiana State University at Alexandria. The fee is $35 for individuals and $17.50 for students, which includes lunch, or students can pay $11.50 with lunch not included. The deadline for registration is December 1, 1997. This seminar is approved for 6.0 contact hours through the Louisiana State Nurses Association. </p><p> The seminar will focus on strategies for overcoming perfectionism, codependency and workaholism, each of which can be deadly--to individual nurses as well as to the nursing profession. The objectives are to identify the manifestations of these three traits, describe the relationship between them, discuss the impact of these "fatal attractions" on the nursing profession and develop strategies for overcoming them.. </p><p> The featured speaker for the seminar is Sue C. DeLaune, MN, RNC, founder and president of SDeLAUNE Consulting, an independent educational service. She has over 25 years experience in nursing as an educator, clinician, and administrator.
