93 GRADUATE DURING SPRING COMMENCEMENT AT LSUA

<p> Chancellor Robert Cavanaugh presented diplomas to 93 graduates during Louisiana State University at Alexandria&acute;s Spring Commencement exercises held May 21. During commencement, 70 students earned associate degrees and 23 students earned bachelor&acute;s degrees. </p><p> Judith Lynn Hillman Thompson of Boyce received the Chancellor&acute;s Award as the LSUA graduate with the highest overall grade point average. She received an associate of science from the Division of Science and her major is occupational therapy. </p><p> Tracy Johnson of Pollock received the President&acute;s Award as the LSU Senior College graduate with the highest overall grade point average. For this achievement, her bachelor of science in elementary education was awarded magna cum laude for attaining a grade point average of at least 3.80. </p><p> Two other LSU Senior College students received recognition for their scholastic achievements. Maude Elizabeth Fontenot of Cheneyville and Douglas M. Sealey of Alexandria graduated cum laude for attaining grade point averages of at least 3.70. Charles S. Weems, III, president and senior member of the Gold, Weems, Bruser, Sues & Rundell law firm, delivered the commencement address during the ceremony which was held in the Physical Education Building on the LSUA campus. Weems is also vice-chairman of the Louisiana State University System Board of Supervisors and president of the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce. </p><p> Degrees were conferred by John R. Williams of Monroe, a member of the LSU System Board of Supervisors.
