NEW LSUA FACULTY AND STAFF

<p> LSUA welcomed twelve new full-time faculty and four staff members for the Fall 1998 semester. Gay Lynn Brown will serve as instructor of accounting at LSUA. She has masters degrees in business administration and in science from La. Tech. Dr. Dahwei Chang joins LSUA as assistant professor of computer science. He taught at the La. School for Math, Science and the Arts in Natchitoches. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Nevada. Anne Chevalier will serve as an instructor of chemistry. She earned her master&acute;s of science in chemistry from Princeton University. Rae Cupples is an instructor of English at LSUA. She received her bachelor&acute;s of English and journalism from La. College and her master&acute;s in English from NLU. Dr. Jeffrey Fletcher joins the faculty as assistant professor of mathematics. His Ph.D. is from the University of Utah. Julie Gill, instructor of kinesiology, received her bachelor&acute;s degree from La. College in fitness and wellness. Her M. Ed. with emphasis in exercise physiology is from NLU. </p><p> Linda Nichols actually joined the Nursing faculty in March of this year. She is an assistant professor of nursing and teaches medical surgical nursing I. Her degrees are from McNeese. Dr. Bret Niedens has a bachelor&acute;s degree from California Polytechnic State University and his Ph.D. is from Montana State University. He will serve as assistant professor of biology. Donna J. Odom joins LSUA as instructor of education. She has a bachelor&acute;s from NLU, and her M.Ed. and Ed.S. from McNeese. She has also done Ph.D. work at UNO. Dr. Henry O. Robertson joins as assistant professor of geography/history. His bachelor&acute;s degree is from Randolph-Macon College and his master&acute;s and Ph.D. were earned at LSU. Rosemary Robertson-Smith was named the director of the LSUA Child Care Center. She has her master&acute;s from La. Tech and bachelor&acute;s degree from University of Glasgow. She comes to LSUA from the NSU Child Development Center at England Airpark. </p><p> Marlene Roney is the new director of purchasing. She was formerly employed by the Rapides Parish School Board and has a bachelor&acute;s degree in accounting from Southeastern at Hammond. Lawanda Smith is an instructor of English who earned her bachelor&acute;s degree in English from LC. She also has a master&acute;s in English from La. Tech and her Master of Divinity and Ed.D. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Randal Williamson has joined LSUA as the director of accounting services. He was formerly associate comptroller at NSU and has worked in the Legislative Auditor&acute;s office. Kathy Wimmert joins the staff as counselor in Student Services. She has her bachelor&acute;s from University of South Florida and her master&acute;s in student personnel services from NSU. Kevin Woller became a full-time faculty member this semester and will continue as instructor of psychology. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Washington. </p><p> Additionally, Dr. Russell Dabbs has been appointed Head of the Division of Business Administration where he had been serving in an interim capacity. </p>
