<p> For the second consecutive year, a student from Louisiana State University at Alexandria will represent the state at the Interstate Oratorical Association&acute;s national contest. Tricia Lopez, a sophomore from Cottonport, was named the Louisiana Champion in Individual Events Pentathlon at the Tri-State Forensic Championship Tournament held at LSUA on Feb. 26-27. </p><p> Lopez was also the Louisiana Champion, second overall and the Novice Champion in persuasive speaking and a finalist in prose. </p><p> Sixteen colleges and universities from Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi were represented at the tournament. William Carey College from Mississippi was named the Overall Sweepstakes Winner. </p><p> Other LSUA students also placed high in the tournament. Lisa Mayeux, a sophomore from Hessmer, was a finalist and novice champion in program oral interpretation, a finalist in prose interpretation, a finalist in dramatic interpretation and a finalist in poetry interpretation. </p><p> Daniel Brown, a sophomore from Alexandria, was a finalist and the Louisiana Champion in communication analysis. Also representing LSUA was Alissa Piazza, a freshman from Marksville. </p>
