Y2K COFFEE CALL

<p> The Bank of Lecompte is sponsoring a Coffee Call in conjunction with the Louisiana State University at Alexandria (LSUA) Division of Continuing Education and Technology to discuss the Year 2000 Computer Bug. The session will be held on Monday, July 12, 1999 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in Chambers Hall on the LSUA Campus. There is no fee to attend, but pre-registration is required by calling 473-6495 or 473-6445. </p><p> Dr. Michael Collins, professor of computer science at LSUA, will be the instructor for the course. The Y2K issue is the most threatening computer problem yet encountered. There is a huge array of very costly potential problems. The discussion will focus on what the problem is, why it is occurring, and what precautions can be taken. </p><p> Coffee Calls are opportunities for the community to meet with faculty members for coffee and conversation in their field of study.
