BOLTON LIBRARY RIBBON CUTTING

<p> The Louisiana State University at Alexandria (LSUA) James C. Bolton Library will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony inaugurating the library&acute;s " Rapides Remembered: Photographs and Tapes" project on Thursday, August 5, 1999 at 10 a.m. in the Bolton Library. This project, funded by a grant from The Rapides Foundation, will preserve historic photographs on computer disks and make tape recordings of leading citizens. The Friends of the Bolton Library will host a reception following a brief demonstration of the equipment to be used for the project. </p><p> "The Rapides Remembers project hopes to expand from Rapides Parish to surrounding central Louisiana communities, thus providing a unique research center for the area," said Dr. Anna C. Burns, director, LSUA Bolton Library. </p><p> All civic, patriotic, religious and cultural organizations and any interested individuals are invited to attend the event to learn about this important effort to preserve local history.
