The LSU Board of Supervisors recently approved a name change for Louisiana State University at Alexandria´s Division of Nursing. Because the division has expanded offerings beyond the associate degree in nursing, the division has been renamed the Division of Nursing and Health Sciences.

"The new name will better reflect the various programs offered through the division," said Ms. Wanda Guidry, head, Division of Nursing and Health Sciences. "We offer many health related programs in addition to the nursing degree, so we feel this is a positive change to move the program forward."

Other programs offered in the division include the Accelerated LPN to ADN program, the Certified Nursing Assistant program, Electrocardiographic Technologist (EKG) and the Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT) program.
