<p> There will be a one day seminar titled "Update: The Latest Pathogens In Our Community" on Monday, November 8, 1999 at LSU at Alexandria. The fee schedule is $39 for individuals, which includes lunch and Continuing Education Units (CEU&acute;s); $19 for students with lunch included but no CEU&acute;s; or $13 for students with no lunch or CEU&acute;s included. There will be a $5 late fee if submitted after October 29. </p><p> Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. in the Barbara Brumfield Caffey Annex on the campus. The program includes Kim Manchester, RN, ADN, and Christa Book, LPN from Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital; Reneé Shamblin, RNC, BSN of the Tioga Jr. High School-based Health Center for Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital; Melba Rhodes, RN, BSN and Anne K. Nugent, RN, ADN from Huey P. Long Memorial Hospital. </p><p>

This program will provide information about infectious diseases that are currently of concern within our community. Some areas to be discussed include tuberculosis, bloodboorne diseases, methacillin resistant staphylococcus aureus and vancomycin resistant enterococcus. Current information regarding each disease along with the latest treatments available will be discussed.
