LSUA´S 40th Anniversary Celebration

<p> Louisiana State University at Alexandria (LSUA) is celebrating 40 years of providing quality educational services to the people of central Louisiana with a special celebration the first week of October. </p><p> "We will be celebrating throughout the entire academic year, but our first official community-wide event will take place Sunday, October 8,"said Melissa LaBorde, committee chair for the 40th anniversary project. </p><p> There will be an Open House and Reception from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. in the Student Center. A short program will be held at 2:30 p.m. Yearbooks, student newspapers, University scrapbooks and other items from the past will be displayed in the cafeteria. Tours to various sites on campus will be available highlighting certain divisions, computer labs, distance education and technology access, and the Children&acute;s Center. </p><p> Also, the University Gallery will host a Restrospective Art Exhibit from the University&acute;s permanent collection. The Bolton Library will display LSUA memorabilia from past to present and some personal articles from the Bolton Family. </p><p> The Empty Space Players will perform a Reader&acute;s Theatre of African-American Poetry on the lawn of the Epps House at 2 p.m. and again at 3 p.m. </p>
