November Continuing Education Courses at LSUA

<p> Louisiana State University at Alexandria&acute;s Division of Continuing Education and Technology has six short courses planned for the month of November. All classes meet on the LSUA campus unless otherwise noted and require pre-registration. </p><p> Journaling for Awareness-This course will be offered on Thursdays, Nov. 2 and 9 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. for a fee of $30. Belle Rollins, instructor of English at LSUA, will explore the ways in which journaling can change your life by increasing your awareness. </p><p> Managing People-Learn the basic strategies for effective supervision and management in this course offered on Wednesday and Friday, Nov. 1 and 3. The class will meet from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the University Center at England Airpark The fee is $50 and the instructor is Joe Hebert. </p><p> Personal Computer: Intermediate-This course focuses on computer hardware, intermediate word processing tasks such as mail merge, using clip art and spreadsheet applications. Some Internet topics will also be covered. Dr. Lawanda Smith will be the instructor on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov. 7, 9, 14 and 16 from 6-9 p.m. The fee is $118 plus text. </p><p> Preparing for the Notary Public Exam-This course will be offered on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. for a fee of $47. Gary Tillman will teach the roles and responsibilities of a notary public in Rapides Parish. </p><p> Property/Casualty Insurance Pre-licensing Course-This thirty-two hour course will prepare participants for the state insurance exam and provide a good education for their career choice. It will be offered Saturdays and Sundays, Nov. 4, 5, 11 and 12 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. via interactive television. The fee is $135 which includes the textbook. </p><p> Vicksburg Battlefield Tour-Visit important Civil War battle sites on this day trip to Vicksburg on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Dr. Henry O. Robertson, professor of history and geography at LSUA, will serve as the tour guide.
