First Paralegal Studies Graduate at LSUA

<p> Susan Ducote of Mansura is the first student to graduate from Louisiana State University at Alexandria&acute;s new paralegal studies program. She received her associate degree in paralegal studies during Spring Commencement exercises on May 17. Dr. Laura Leach conferred the degrees and Chancellor Robert Cavanaugh presented the diplomas. </p><p> Ms. Ducote also received the West Legal Studies Award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement. She is the first LSUA student to receive the award which is designed to recognize excellence in paralegal education </p><p>

A paralegal is a person , qualified by education, training or work experience who is employed or retained by a lawyer, law office, corporation or governmental agency and who performs specifically delegated substantive legal work for which the lawyer is responsible.
