LSUA Presents Service Awards to Employees

<p> Louisiana State University at Alexandria recently presented awards to employees for years of service to the university. Three employees received awards for 30 years of service at LSUA. Thanks to a generous gift by Michael and Jennifer Jenkins, they received a certificate and a $1,000 cash award. Honored for 30 years of service were Brenda Cook, RN, MSN of Pineville, associate professor and department chair of nursing; Roy deVille of Alexandria, professor of fine arts and director of University Gallery; and Valrie Jonan Pippen of Pineville, university bookstore manager. </p><p> Pins for 25 years of service were awarded to Dr. Greg Gormanous, professor of psychology and head, division of Liberal Arts and Wanda Guidry, RN, MSN, associate professor and head, division of Nursing and Health Sciences, both of Alexandria. </p><p> The following employees received pins for 20 years of service: Marcia Armand, RN, MSN of Bunkie, associate professor of nursing; Trudy Mertens of Forest Hill, university admissions analyst; Betty Saunders of Lecompte, assistant to the director of student aid and scholarships, and Cherry White of Cheneyville, food service coordinator. </p><p> Certificates for 15 years of service were given to Pamela Deloach Brouillette of Effie, library associate; Susan Eversull of Alexandria, administrative secretary; and Fred Thomas of Lecompte, custodian 2. </p><p> For 10 years of service the following employees received pins. They were Mary Lemoine of Mansura, procurement specialist 2; Darrell Sampson of Mansura, custodian 2; Kevin Sampson of Marksville, maintenance repairer 2; Dr. Dee Slavant of Alexandria, director of Student Services; Virgil Stanford of Alexandria, vice chancellor for Business Affairs; and Laurie Tanner of Evergreen, executive secretary. </p><p> Employees who received certificates for 5 years of service were Dr. Thomas Awtry of Alexandria, associate professor of mathematics; Dolly Carroll of Pineville, vocational counselor; Theresa Dunn of Lecompte, food service specialist 2; Dr. Steven Jackson of Lafayette, associate professor of English; Charles Quinn of Tioga, maintenance repairer 2; Carla Reed of Alexandria, administrative secretary; James Roberts of Lecompte, custodian 2; Greg Stanford of Alexandria, custodian 2; Dr. Randall Stovall of Alexandria, vice chancellor of Academic Affairs; Mary Josette Texada of Alexandria, golf course; and Lillian Wooley of Pineville, assistant professor of English and chair, department of Arts, English and Humanities </p>
