Local Nonprofit Leaders Complete Nonprofit Management Program

<p> Twenty local nonprofit managers recently completed the first Nonprofit Management Program, a comprehensive six-month program of leadership workshops which began on January 12. The program was presented by The Rapides Foundation, Louisiana State University at Alexandria and Louisiana State University in Shreveport. </p><p> This inaugural program featured monthly one-day workshops for nonprofit managers, supervisors and board members in Rapides Parish. Participants received intensive training in six topic areas including financial management, board recruitment and development, advanced resource development, collaboration, strategic planning and program development. Each workshop included a lecture, coaching, and activities to facilitate learning. Regionally and nationally recognized instructors presented standard practices and real-world applications on each topic. </p><p> Participants received a certificate after successful completion of the program.
