LSUA Bolton Library Exhibit

<p> The James C. Bolton Library at Louisiana State University at Alexandria (LSUA) is displaying a collection of pottery made by Ken Tracy of Pineville. The exhibit can be viewed from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. through October 19. </p><p> The double wall pottery is made from low fire clay with slip applied in floral designs which are hand painted. There are vases of various colors and sizes. He also has a unique piece which he calls a "basketdillo." Other examples of his work include cobalt cameo ware. The display includes vases, a platter and an angel figurine. </p><p> Tracy received his bachelor of science in art education at Louisiana College and a master of arts in painting at Northwestern State University. He has 25 years experience as a potter and is currently an art teacher at Tioga Junior High School. His work has been exhibited locally in Monroe, New Orleans and Jennings, in addition to cities across the United States from Mississippi to Kansas and east to Vermont and New York. </p><p> Some of the pieces on display are available for purchase.
