Workshop for Health Care Professionals Offered at LSUA

<p> The Louisiana State University at Alexandria (LSUA) Division of Nursing and Health Sciences and the Division of Continuing Education presents "Venus to Mars: Women&acute;s and Men&acute;s Health." This workshop for all health care professionals will be held on Friday, March 15 from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The cost is $60 for the general public and $30 for LSUA students and faculty if postmarked by March 1. There will be a $5 late fee for payments after March 1. Pre-registration is encouraged due to limited seating. To receive registration information, call LSUA at (318) 473-6495. </p><p> The program will provide a comprehensive approach to relevant trends in women&acute;s and men&acute;s health. The workshop will integrate physical, psychological, and psychosocial aspects of women&acute;s and men&acute;s health. </p><p> In the morning session, Kathy Swift, RN, MSN, will present a humorous approach to the changes women face. Dr. Greg Gormanous and Dr. Mary Treuting, both licensed psychologists and faculty members at LSUA, will present the lunch program titled "Psycholocutions: to do or not to do." After lunch, Dr. John Naponick will begin the session on men&acute;s health by speaking about vasectomy education. Shirley Burton, MPH, will cover current disease trends in men and Priscilla Barnes, MPH, will discuss behavioral risks in men&acute;s health. </p><p> The fee includes registration, lunch, refreshments and processing of continuing education units for nurses.
