LSU Alexandria is hosting its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Luncheon to benefit its Ebony Scholarship. The guest speaker will be Vani Marshall, a native of Malaysia with roots in India. Ms. Marshall’s presentation will parallel the teachings of Mahatma Ghandi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. <p>The luncheon will be held on Monday, Jan. 26 from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Barbara Brumfield Caffey Annex on campus. The meal is being provided by Outback Steakhouse. </p><p>Reservations are required by contacting Dessie Williams at (318) 473-6473. General admission is $10. A limited number of LSU Alexandria student tickets are available for $2 and can be purchased at the Accounting office. </p><p>Marshall always loved the Indian culture and was born into an orthodox Hindu priesthood family with relatives who still serve as priests. She pursued a degree in law at London University and recently received her bachelor of art in counseling from Suffield University in Connecticut.
