Louisiana State University at Alexandria is proud to announce a new Interim Chair for the Department of Business Administration.
Dr. Haywood Joiner will assume this new position within the department on August 1, 2013. With this move, LSUA will be able to put into place a structure that will allow the Department of Business Administration to grow both on campus and within Central Louisiana.
Dr. Joiner is well known throughout central Louisiana. Dr. Joiner currently serves as Chair, Department of Allied Health, but also serves on numerous boards in the community. Dr. Joiner is Past Board Chair, Central Louisiana Area Health Education Committee; Past Board President, Arna Bontemps African American Museum; Past President, CENLA Kiwanis Club; Member, Rotary Club of Alexandria; Board Member and Past Education Division Chair, Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce; Commissioner, Rapides Parish Housing Authority; Commissioner, Rapides Parish Civil Service Commission; and Board Member, Rapides Regional Medical Center.
This change in leadership will allow Dr. Robert Bush, former Business Administration Department chair, to focus more on his position as the Alumni and Friends Endowed Chair in Business. As the endowed chair, Dr. Bush will provide the central Louisiana region with a stronger educational program in business and contribute to the growing local and state economy by providing additional expertise. Dr. Bush will also work toward increasing the number of internships available for LSUA students, work within the department to provide assistance to local businesses and develop research and publication initiatives.
LSUA is pleased to welcome Dr. Joiner in his new leadership role and support Dr. Bush in his new endeavors.
