LSU Alexandria celebrating environment by planting tree

Released: 04/18/2013

LSU Alexandria will commemorate Earth Day on Monday, April 22, with the planting of a tree.

The event will begin at noon and will occur near the intersection of Grady Britt Street and Jerry Myrick Street on LSU Alexandria’s campus. Following brief remarks, a tree will be planted in the recently reclaimed green space. The tree is being donated and planted by Bob’s Tree Preservation from Scott, LA.

LSUA has been designated a Tree Campus USA university by the Arbor Day Foundation for its work in planting and preserving trees. The campus typically celebrates Louisiana Arbor Day annually on the third Friday in January, but this year’s activities were postponed.
