Soprano Performance at LSUA

<p> Soprano Erika Wueschner and a pianist will perform an hour-long, intimate and informal concert at Louisiana State University at Alexandria on Friday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Barbara Brumfield Caffey Annex. There is no admission fee. </p><p> The concert is a part of the Piatiogorsky Foundation and is hosted by the Arts Council of Central Louisiana. The program is sponsored in part by the Virginia Martin Howard Foundation through the Virginia Martin Howard Northern Louisiana Tour. Mrs. Howard, of Pineville, is a long-time supporter of arts programs in central Louisiana and across the nation. </p><p> The artists will combine their performance with engaging and compelling commentary that will give the audience a personal understanding of the music and the performers. </p><p> Ms. Wueschner, of Ottumwa, Iowa, has enjoyed early career success in opera. She recently performed the role of Lucia in Hindemith&acute;s The Long Christmas Dinner with the Lincoln Center Theatre Lab in the esteemed Vivian Beaumont Theatre. </p><p> Ms. Weuschner has appeared as Mimi in Puccini&acute;s La Boheme with both Opera of the Pacific and the Brevard Music Festival as well as other roles and solo performances. </p><p> Ms. Wueschner holds a master of music degree from The Juilliard School and a bachelor of arts degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
