Released: 04/09/2013

LSU Alexandria Associate Professor of History Dr. Christopher Stacey was elected to a three year term on the Louisiana Historical Association Board of Directors at the Association’s recent state convention.

The LHA was founded on April 11, 1889, for the purpose of collecting and disseminating historical information on Louisiana, a goal which remains the primary mission of the association.

The LHA currently has more than 1,000 members nationwide and abroad and publishes the quarterly academic journal, Louisiana History.

This year’s convention was held in Alexandria. At the meeting, members heard presentations of current historical research, shared ideas and opinions about the history of the state, browsed the latest titles published on the state's history, and recognized members and students for their contributions to the study of Louisiana History.
