Nationally ranked Private Investigator course beginning soon

Central Louisiana residents interested in the field of private investigations should act now to take advantage of the nationally recognized course offered by LSU Alexandria’s Office of Continuing Education.

The 40-hour private investigator basic training course will be held May 17-19 and 24-26. Friday sessions will be from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday sessions will be from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

LSU Alexandria’s program is ranked third in the nation by for private investigation training programs among educational institutions. The ranking is based on the type of program available, college accreditation, course content, application requirements, and license qualification. LSU Alexandria’s ranking placed them behind University of Washington (Seattle, WA), and Boston University (Boston, MA). Other Louisiana schools also made the Top 25 listing, but LSU Alexandria was the highest ranked program in the state. More information on the rankings can be found at

The fee for the course is $350. An additional $50 fee will be required to take the Louisiana Private Investigator Exam on the last day of the course.
