LSU ALEXANDRIA FALL GRADUATES

LSU Alexandria presented its first four-year degrees during commencement exercises on Thursday, Dec. 18 on the LSU Alexandria campus. More than 100 students received diplomas including the university’s first four-year degrees. <p>The Honorable Charlie DeWitt, Speaker of the Louisiana State House of Representatives who was instrumental in securing the change in status for the university, presented the school’s first four-year commencement address. </p><p>Speaker DeWitt and Senator Joe McPherson were presented the LSU Alexandria Distinguished Service Award for their work securing legislative approval for the change to four-year status. The Distinguished Service Award is the university’s highest honor. </p><p>Chancellor&apos;s Awards were presented to the top associate degree graduate and the top bachelor’s degree graduate. The award for the associate degree candidate was presented to Jo Ann Robinson of Bentley. Ms. Robinson received an associate of arts degree in early childhood education. The Chancellor’s Award for a bachelor’s degree candidate was presented to Paulley Svebeck Rabalais of Evergreen. She received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.
