The Louisiana State University at Alexandria Generals baseball team invites the public to share in the excitement of baseball on Saturday, Nov. 17. The Generals will play 100 straight innings of baseball in an effort to raise funds for the athletics programs.
There is no charge for entrance to the marathon game, which will begin at 8 a.m. on the practice fields by The Oaks on LSU Alexandria campus. The game should conclude by 2 p.m. Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to enjoy the game, since there are no bleachers at the practice field.
The marathon game is one activity that the team has coordinated to help raise money to fund future projects. Players received pledges based on the number of innings played. Money raised through the multiple fundraising efforts will be used to assist with a grand stand and press box, batting cage renovation and expansion, bullpen improvements, locker room and lounge area.
The team is also still seeking a volunteer to serve as the public address announcer for the team’s 24 home games on 15 dates this season.
For information on how to assist the team with its needs, contact Generals Head Baseball Coach Brent Porche at 318-473-6486 or email@example.com.
