Religious freedom in the United States and the background of the First Amendment will be the topics of an open forum set for Nov. 9 at LSU Alexandria.
John M. Barry, author of Roger Williams and The Creation of the American Soul: Church, State, and the Birth of Liberty, will be the featured speaker for the event. The forum is free and is open to the public. It begins at 9 a.m. in the Brumfield Caffey Annex on LSU Alexandria campus.
While on campus, Barry will also meet with history majors to talk about the writing process.
