Five LSU Alexandria students will compete for the title of Ms. LSU Alexandria in the scholarship competition tonight in the Brumfield Caffey Ballroom beginning at 7 p.m.
Competing for a $1,000 Chancellor's Scholarship will be Jalyn Chante Ashley, a sophomore nursing major from Alexandria; Arron Renee Constante, a junior English major from Alexandria; Katlyn Ann Michiels, a sophomore nursing major from Alexandria; Lashanda Chevon Moss, a sophomore communication studies major from Alexandria; and Kiesha Maria Swafford, a sophomore communication studies major from Alexandria. The winner will be crowned by Ms. LSU Alexandria 2011, Amanda Austin.
Tickets are $3 for LSUA students with a valid ID and general admission is $6. Tickets are available at the door.
In addition to the winner, awards will also be presented for ad sales, Ms. Congeniality, Scholastic Achievement, Director's Award, People's Choice and first- and second-runner up. The program director is Kathy Wimmert and the mistress of ceremonies will be Missy LaBorde.
