Final 'March Back 2 College' Event for Adult Learners Set March 31

Released: 03/24/2011

The final “March Back 2 College” seminar for adults who want to return to or start college will be held March 31 at LSU Alexandria from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Brumfield-Caffey Annex at the student center.

Shelly Kieffer, director of recruiting and admissions, said representatives from the LSUA faculty and admissions and financial aid personnel will be available to answer questions and assist with applications for admission. “There will not be a formal presentation. We will be available for individual consultation at the convenience of the participants,” Kieffer said. “The event will be geared to helping potential adult students with their full- or part-time transition into college, and no question will go unanswered.”

LSUA sponsored four previous seminars this month at locations across Central Louisiana. More than 45 percent of the students at LSUA exceed 24 years of age. “Adult learners possess obligations and concerns that most traditional students immediately out of high school don’t have,” said Kieffer. “These are the issues that we will address in this final ‘March Back 2 College’ meeting.”
